In a season when the sun's rays are gentler and the earth is cool, come kindle inner warmth and honor the foundational practice of Sun Salutations.
In this workshop, you'll explore how Sun Salutations can become a transformative practice for your body, breath (read nervous system!), and mind. We'll discover how to build strength with fluidity, care for the shoulders—creating space, ease, and relief from tightness and rounding—and understand the dynamics of moving the body as one integrated whole. Most importantly, we'll cultivate a deep relationship with the breath, the true agent of transformation in our practice.
What We'll Cover:
Three different forms of Sun Salutations
Solutions for common challenges in your practice
Modifications for when certain movements aren't right for you right now
How to make vinyasa and chaturanga allies rather than adversaries in your practice
This is a workshop-style series, meaning we'll take time breaking down each element and dive into understanding how to use these tools most effectively to build strength and balance.

About Serena :: As a student of yoga, my greatest joy is exploring the "why" behind yoga asana. This curiosity has led me deep into the study of body movement and mechanics. Having been blessed to train with one of the world's leading teachers in yoga posture practice, I'm honored to carry forward this tradition. Drawing from my own practice to address stuck, irritated, and injured areas, I'm passionate about sharing what has helped me and countless others.
Yoga movements have never come easily to me. Injured shoulders and chronic imbalances left me feeling weak and in pain. Through dedicated practice, I've used these movements to build strength, restore balance, and find relief—which is why I believe we shouldn't abandon challenging postures and movements in our practice or our lives. While many teachers suggest skipping them or excluding them from classes, I respectfully disagree. I believe we should learn them, study them, and practice them mindfully to unlock their full potential.
