…work one-on-one…
Sometimes we need more help than we can find in a group class. A private session is wonderful if we are just beginning yoga or coming back to it after a big change or time away. While recovering from injury or simply when encountering a stuck part of our body or mind the one-on-one time to work with a teacher can be invaluable in giving us confidence. Once we have worked with a teacher individually it helps us get more from a group class setting as well.
Private sessions are not meant to be a replacement for therapy or for a doctor.
Serena Ahlgren
Yoga isn't one size fits all — and neither is the way I teach it.
I offer private, one-on-one yoga sessions designed to meet you where you are. I work with people approaching yoga for the very first time, as well as people who have had lifelong movement practices and want to continue learning and growing. I help people navigate injury and healing, the changes that come with age, and the very real weight of everyday stress.
My approach blends therapeutic movement, careful wakeful alignment of the body, mindful breathwork, and an emphasis on nurturing a deep sense of home inside. Whatever you're working with, we build a practice that's safe, sustainable, and genuinely yours. It may be gentle, or it may be challenging — often both.
Together we'll move at your pace, build real strength, and create something that actually fits your body and your life. No pressure, no comparison — just you and the work of feeling better.
I'd love to be part of your practice. Reach out to get started.
Each session (1 hour 15 minutes) includes time to check in and arrive, a practice built around you, and a deep rest at the end — so you leave feeling settled and ready for whatever comes next. Sessions are $115. Shorter sessions are available to accommodate special needs.
You can find out more information on my website, or email me to begin the conversation.
Student Testimonial-
“My physical therapist recommended yoga for arthritis in my lower back, and working with Serena has significantly improved my strength, flexibility, and confidence. I’m also discovering that yoga is so much more than exercise!
Serena is an attentive listener, responds thoughtfully, and offers instruction that is supportive, clear, and easy to follow. I am very grateful to her for helping me find my way and create a practice that supports my overall well-being.” K. Kenworthy
Damla Gungor
Damla is fascinated by the places in the body that have gone quiet or “tense” — the subtle “glueing” in the fascia, the protective holding in the nerves, the compensation patterns that form from toes to nose. Her work is a slow excavation of these limitations, creating space not through force, but through playful exploration.
Her diagnosis of a herniated disc at the age of 12 and several hospitalizations set her on a quest of weaving various disciplines. A lot of people are shocked when they hear this fact about her knowing her passion of trapeze and aerial silks. She is compulsively experimenting with the weaving of circus arts, yoga, theater, and Feldenkrais in her weekly Aerial Theater classes. Her yoga studies with Suzanne opened a new “mythological” door into human anatomy. She continues this spiritual study of human anatomy with Tom Myers.
A herniated disc diagnosis, followed by multiple hospitalizations, set her on a quest of discovering the body’s potential. The potential of trusting your body, not what you have been told.
She believes that resilience can be cultivated through play and awareness.
Her approach weaves circus arts, yoga, theater, and principles inspired by Moshe Feldenkrais into a practice that honors both structure and imagination.
How does “efforting” dissolve into efficient movement and thinking that feels like “aaaaah”?
Classes with her invite you to encounter places of resistance and tension with FUN through;
Compression therapy,
Backbends and inversions,
•Finding home in standing poses,
Mayan abdominal massage,
Expressive arts and theater practices
