Expansion Lab :: TOUCH
Expansion lab is a continuing education space for teachers and aspiring teachers (mostly of yoga) created by Suzanne Dunning to enrich and strengthen individuals in expressing their creative offerings.
Yoga has never been a static “thing”. There was never a time when yoga was more real or more relevant, or more traditional than it is now. Yoga has always happened in the present- co-arising in response to the actual needs of a society to be a doorway through which life beckons us to reconnect what has become disconnected to God.
As yoga teachers we can become frozen in habitual modes of teaching- statically referencing old theories, or cueing without a sense of present vitality or personal connection. Expansion Lab offers connection with fellow teachers, new ideas, and curiosity, to ignite joy; joy that was perhaps our original impetus to teach.
Expansion Lab is offered on a semi-regular basis offering immersions and workshops to delve into topics that while taught in teacher training programs benefit from reexamination and regular exploration.
In the first session of Expansion Lab Suzanne will lead us through a discussion and exploration of the current climate of yoga teacher hands-on-assisting: the art of touch. This topic is often glossed over in YTTs for the reason that it is HUGE.
We will build some frameworks for understanding and experimentation. Our exploration will be less didactic and more conversational- as there is never a “right” way. Time will mostly be spent exploring in pairs and small groups and discussing.
