Spring Ashtanga Soundbath

“We warmly invite you to embark on a 2-hour journey of self-exploration and deep relaxation, as you flow through an empowering, all-levels friendly Ashtanga yoga flow followed by a long, 360 degree soundbath shavasana, enveloped by a surround-sound cocoon of healing sounds, dreamy frequencies, and holy mantras.

The rhythmic alignment of breath and movement in the yoga practice complements the ethereal tones & soothing vibrations of crystal bowls, tuning forks, and other sound instruments, creating a symphony that resonates deep into the subtle body. This powerful fusion of Ashtanga yoga and Soundbath gently guides you toward a state of profound tranquility and renewal that will stay with you long after the evening concludes, as we transition into the spring season.

Ashtanga practice will be led by Joey Paz, followed by a long, 360° surround- sound vibrational shavasana, courtesy of a stellar cast of Humboldt’s finest sound healers: Mfon Planter, Jen Madrone, Shemaia Skywater, & Lindsey Harris.”

A very special, once-a-year collaboration not to be missed!

Kirtan :: Devotional Song with Seabury Gould

By singing ancient Sanskrit prayers, we create a heart-opening musical experience with irresistibly sanctifying power. In community, we join a stream of consciousness & devotion that has been flowing for centuries.

By singing together in this way, we appreciate Nada Brahma: Sound is God.

Join multi-instrumentalist & storyteller Seabury Gould and tabla player Colby Beers for an evening of Kirtan (devotional singing), a vital element of Bhakti Yoga, the Yoga of Devotion.

Seabury Gould is a life-long student of music. He spent 2 years in India studying classical Hindustani & Karnatic music. He studied Indian ragas with master teachers such as Ali Akbar Khan, GS Sachdev & Dr. K. Subramaniam. He sings, plays guitar, and bansuri bamboo flute. Seabury is a music teacher for both adults & children. His sadhana (spiritual practice) has included the Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo & the Mother since 1974.

Drummer Colby Beers has been a devoted disciple of tabla master Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri for a decade & has been studying percussion since 1997. Colby is a music teacher of tabla & other percussion.
